About
Why a duck race?
A list of names and a "random" button gets the job done. Nobody gasps at it, though, and nobody believes it when their name comes up three times. A race gives the room twenty seconds to care, and a result everyone saw happen.

What we hold ourselves to
The result is fair, and we can explain why. Every race is decided by a cryptographic random draw before the ducks move. Looks, lanes, and clicks can't change it, and the method is published.
Your names are your business. Class lists and team rosters stay in your browser. There are no accounts to create and no names in our usage counts. The privacy notice says exactly what we store.
It works in the room you're in. A projector at the back of a gym, a laptop on a video call, a phone at a picnic table. Fullscreen keeps the board readable, low motion keeps it comfortable, and the keyboard reaches everything.
Nothing to sell you mid-race. The public race is free, with no ads over the course or controls.
What's next
Schools, clubs, and charities have asked for races their whole audience can follow on their phones. Hosted organization events are designed and in development on the same race engine. If that's you, join the list; the number of confirmed signups is how we decide what to build first.
Who makes Duck Race Derby
Duck Race Derby is brought to you by Canned Tuna, the same team behind the SpinForIt! decision wheel maker. We build small, fair, fun tools for the moments when a group has to pick something and nobody wants to be the one who chose.
From the same team
Rather spin than race?
SpinForIt! turns the same kind of list into a decision wheel: yes or no questions, classroom name picks, prize wheels, and what to eat for dinner.
